Just wanted to briefly share how truly blessed I am. I had such a wonderful weekend. I spend great quality time with family and friends. I celebrated the day of AMOR....with the loves of my life. My hubby and baby. I had an amazing birthday weekend! I had Monday off (birthday holiday at work-seriously, i love my job!) and spent it with my daughter. We had a picnic at the park and a playdate with her buddy Wyatt...who by the way was her first Valentine. He showed up at church on Sunday with a teddy bear and candies! Sooo sweet!
Loving God, loving family, loving life....

I can do all things....
I woke up this morning with this verse in mind... Here are a few devotionals on what the
Word of God tells us. Only through Christ Jesus can we do ALL things. It's not with our strength... Lord, I set myself aside this morning asking YOU to take control and do your mighty work in me. *Maribel*
Please read Philippians 4:13
Have you ever been asked or told to do something on the job, and then realized later that for some reason, you couldn't do exactly what was requested?
I'm sure we've all had that experience. In this industry we, as kitchen staff members, can easily run into this. Lately, I have been thinking about how often we say things like "I can't do that" or "There is no way it will ever turn out". And this may well be true in some instances. We certainly don't want to fulfill our responsibilities in a shoddy manner or in a way that would be displeasing to our employer. So if we're telling ourselves that "we can't do it", perhaps we just haven't completely thought through the process, or maybe we haven't prayed and asked for God's help. Perhaps what was requested may not be entirely possible, but with the Lord's help and wisdom, there may be an alternate way to accomplish what needs to be done. In this way, we CAN do all things through Christ which strengthens us. Knowing that we CAN do all things through Christ, whatever they may be, and He certainly should give us strength to get through whatever challenge is put in our way. And that holds true in the professional kitchen as well as in every other area of our lives.
Our strength comes from God. Because of this, we can do ALL things through Christ. Sometimes we may not need strength to ACCOMPLISH the task, but rather we need strength to have a good attitude about it. Or perhaps we need strength to control our emotions. I think the emphasis in Philippians 4:13 isn't so much on ACCOMPLISHMENT or achievement as it is on our willingness to allow Christ's power to sustain us in difficult situations. It's easy to get into the mindset that "I can't do this or that." But if you remember what Philippians 4:13 says, you will be able to look at things in an entirely different light. This will enable you to have a more positive attitude in the workplace. And hopefully, the rest of your teammates will notice the difference in the way you perform your duties.
So claim Philippians 4:13 for yourself and see what a difference it makes in your life! May God bless you in ALL you do.

Excellence & God's Provision
A musician often thinks that he or she has reached their creative potential, the point where they aren't able to improve any more on their craft. These times are very frustrating and can take a toll on one's spiritual life.
One may find themselves thinking, "God, where are you? Why can't I get better?" I think the wrong thing to do in such a situation is say, "Well, God never said we had to be the best; we just have to do what we can." While I don't think that this statement is completely void, I don't believe it is completely true either. Luckily, there are answers to these questions.
Philippians 4 talks about excellence and God's provision. Philippians 4:8 states, ".....if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things; and the God of peace shall be with you." What I take from this is that God wants us to strive for excellence. It is not wrong to try and be the best possible or to make yourself better. However, you will run into problems if you try to replace your faith in God with faith in yourself. Sometimes I find that the reason I'm in a rut, so to speak, is that I am relying too heavily on my own abilities. I'm not leaving any room for God to improve me.
Philippians 4:13 clearly states, "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me." I don't think it could be any clearer. Through Christ we can do anything! Granted, nothing comes for free, there may be a little work needed on our end, and nothing comes quickly. Often it takes time to build talents, abilities, character, or whatever it is we are trying to improve. Patience is definitely a necessity. We must remember to trust God and talk to him often. He hears us even though we might think that He doesn't. Through Him we can do anything. Without Him we can do nothing with ease.

Happy Lunes!
I'm thirty mins away from freedom. In a few mins, i'll be on my way to pick up my precious daughter and sign up at a new gym! I'm saying good bye to Peak, which I LOVEEEEE. But the hubby and I are joining a family plan and taking our daughter with us for a few runs throughout the week. We want her to learn from this early age the importance of taking care of herself.
Last year, i reached my fitness goal. I got conditioned and lost some of the weight. This year, i'm striving to reach the last 25 pounds. ( i know, it sounds like ALOT). But i'm really looking forward to this. I'm committed and know that it'll require tons of work and sacrifice. (mmmmm cold stone....)
I challenge you today to set a goal for yourself. Big or small...do something that will bring change :)

One month down..
So it's hard to believe that one month out of this new year has already ended. I think about the goals I set for myself and wonder If they will be reached. Dont' get me wrong, i'm staying away from all negativity. I'm just more focused on how time flies by. Years ago, I don't think i'd even bring this up. Where is time going? What are we doing about making a difference? I guess i'm getting a bit off topic here. My mind is just wondering, and a zillion things are running through my mind.
Anyhow, this is where i'll be posting some thoughts, share memories and who knows what else from here on. I've realized that i don't "vent" and end up with too many things on my mind. This will be my breathing and relaxing zone.
Thanks for reading....
BTW, it's SNOWING out here. I think i've seen snow here approx three times in the past three years. So far, February is looking pretty good :)
